Two of the nation’s largest telephone companies, Verizon and AT&T, have installed temporary communications towers at the Arizona ranch of Senator John McCain to provide cellular telephone coverage there, the two companies said Wednesday. But both said they did so for business reasons and not at the request of Mr. McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, who is on the Senate Commerce Committee.

“The Secret Service is a customer of ours,” said Jeff Nelson, a spokesman for Verizon. “Our contract with them specifically says that when they need service for any reason related to accomplishing their mission, we must do it, at no charge, and provide 24/7 human expertise.”

The Web site of The Washington Post first reported Wednesday on the efforts to bring cellular service to the McCain ranch. It said those efforts began in early 2007 when Cindy McCain, the senator’s wife, asked Verizon to expand service to their residence in Sedona, which is in a sparsely populated valley.

“Mrs. McCain and her staff went through the public Web site as any member of the public would,” said Brian Rogers, a spokesman for the McCain campaign. “No strings were pulled, and there was no involvement of Senate staff.”

Verizon, however, declined that request, Mr. Nelson said, because “it didn’t make traditional business sense.” It was only after Mr. McCain wrapped up the presidential nomination and began receiving Secret Service protection in April that cellular service was installed, not in the ranch house itself, but at a trailer that was the work base for the Secret Service agents protecting Mr. McCain.

“This was meant as a temporary fix,” said Eric Zahren, a spokesman for the Secret Service. “We never spoke on anyone else’s behalf, only in our own interests. At no time were we involved in discussions about a permanent tower to be put up.”

In the case of AT&T, the circumstances were somewhat different because the company does not have a contract with the Secret Service. Claudia Jones, an AT&T spokeswoman, said that after it became clear that Mr. McCain would become the Republican nominee, the company “made a business decision” to install a temporary tower for only the duration of the campaign.

“We anticipated a surge in usage and traffic because of reporters and other visitors who are AT&T customers,” Ms. Jones said. “We sought to locate it in a number of other places, but not a lot of people want a temporary cell tower on their property. So we got permission from the McCain family to locate it on their property.”

The dream was so vivid and unusual I told my husband about it as soon as I awoke. “I was explaining to a woman with shoulder-length, golden-brown hair and a white lab coat that I felt a pain in my left breast,” I said. “But I’ve never noticed anything like that.”

A friend then gave me the name of her oncologist. Before my appointment, I did all the reading I could on breast cancer so I’d be able to make a more informed decision about surgery and treatment. The most important thing, though, would be finding a doctor I could trust. Lord, I asked, how will I know who’s the right one for me?

My friend’s oncologist put me at ease right away and I told him I wanted to avoid losing my breast, if at all possible. “I’d like you to see this surgeon I work with,” he said, then set up an appointment for me.

I drove straight over. The moment I saw the surgeon, I knew that I’d finally found my doctor. Standing there in her white lab coat, her honey-colored hair falling around her shoulders, was the woman I’d seen in my dream.

As I watch, read and listen to politics today, one point comes to mind and that is the “What is in it for me” and the presidential candidates promise this and that to me. To hell with all of that, I am an American so just get out of my way and I will make my own future.

That is independence, that is freedom and that is the American way. The thought of a government giving me something scares the devil out of me. I think that is socialism, and if I wanted to live in a country like that then I would learn to speak Russian first and then I would move to Russia and the same for Germany, Iran, Spain ect. Ect

I am damn proud of the way I grew up, I could borrow money with a hand shake and if I didn’t pay it back on time then I expected an ass kicking. The same was true when I loaned money.

My government gave me nothing; in fact they drafted me and sent me of to that old Asian war. It was there and then that my government taught me what freedom really cost. The cost of freedom is blood.

Freedom is so precious, the Constitution gives me the right to do as I please, it teaches me to circumcise myself and keep myself within due bounds of all men. The Constitution lays down the fundamentals of Gods Law that provides that freedom. Neither the Constitution nor God stands in the way of my goals in life. That is all up to me; success or failure is all up to me. And if I do fail I don’t expect any more from the Constitution than I do from God. I have a right to decide how much money I want to earn in a year or a lifetime then lay down a plan, then work that plan till I achieve my goal then neither God, or Country stands in my way that is freedom.

WTFIGOH, both McCain and Obama promise me something; a President should inspire, encourage, protect and open the way for an American. Promising nothing but that freedom which is the most precious thing to a real American, whether he be born here or works his way into our country.

Nothing is more precious than that piece of paper on which the Constitution is written on, when I stood before it, I felt the security and force that surrounded it, and I felt something inside my soul that overwhelmed me. FREEDOM.

I think our future leaders need to go back to the basics of the Constitution, reunite our nation, put God at the top of the do list, teach us how to pray again and give thanks for the things we have, move ahead with our defense of Israel. Freedom aint free and the Constitution does not apply to those people that does not want to live by and for it. Even though it does provide for them also.

I am a proud American; I have faith in my God and my country. My faith will lead me and I shall provide the needs of my Constitution. This I am free to do and it is not the other way around.

I never thought that I would be rescued by representatives but to my surprise they voted what seems to be the will of the people, to me this was an astonishing event.

For quite some time I have known we have had a political crisis in my country, quite some time ago lawyers changed the law affecting bankruptcy for individuals, was this to set us up for big business. Maybe this money crisis will keep the big boys from taking all of our homes and reselling them.

Bailing out Wall Streets are not going to help us that is not the root of this evil, the root is our elected officials, we the people need to take Washington on a cruise and bail out the boat, or we could exercise our 2^nd Amendment right.

The non political experts are probably right and I am in for long hardships and I fear that red neck Americans like my self will take down some politicians as we go. One can only kick on a true blooded American so much and when he does turn to fight he becomes the most vicious animal of this planet.

If I say $700 billion that goes right over our heads but you know what I am talking about, this bailout bullshit, but when I tell you that $2000 of that is yours, $2000 is mine and that comes out to over $2000 for every man woman and child in America. I have voted for George 4 times, and I have been a stanch supporter of both Presidents. However this last year with our current leader makes me ashamed to admit that fact. I have lost so much faith with George W and with this economics situation, I see my nation loosing its leadership ability. I am willing to impeach him right now.
